Mayor David Briley Statement on Community Benefits Agreement
Judith Byrd (615) 862-6461; c: (615) 761-6694
The community benefits agreement announced today will guarantee minority business opportunities, create affordable housing and provide needed safety protections for our workers. I have been consistent in my position that the development of the new MLS stadium include a CBA because we must be a city that embraces growth and new opportunities while ensuring every resident benefits and thrives along with it.
I applaud Stand Up Nashville and Nashville Soccer Holdings for their leadership and persistence during this process. It is the right thing to do for Nashville, and it will have a lasting impact ensuring our entire community will benefit from the MLS stadium development. Tonight, I urge all 30 Metro Council members who signed the CBA pledge on August 7 to vote in support of the project.
