New interactive map allows homeowners to quickly locate their nearest fire station and fire hydrant.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 26, 2018) – The Nashville Fire Department in cooperation with Metro Nashville’s Mapping and GIS division within Metro Nashville’s Planning Department has launched an interactive map on the NFD Nashville.Gov page that will allow users to search for the nearest fire station and fire hydrant based on their address.
The information can be used by homeowners and insurance companies to determine the ISO Public Protection Classification (ISO PPC) for their location. The ISO PPC Rating scale is from 1 – 10 with 1 being the best.
Areas with better ISO PPC ratings are eligible for lower homeowner insurance premiums.
For example, The Nashville/Davidson County PPC is 3/3X on the ISO scale.
For addresses within 5 road miles of a fire station, and within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, the rating of 3 applies.
For addresses outside of 5 road miles of a station, but within 1000 feet of a hydrant the rating is 3X.
There are a few areas of Davidson County that are considered 10, if they are beyond the road miles and hydrant distance mentioned above.
The new interactive map can be accessed on the Nashville Fire Department Nashville.Gov page, you can also go directly to the Fire Search Tool and on HubNashville.
