Nashville Fire Department Makes 46 Promotions

NFD adds Deputy Directors, Commanders, District Chiefs, Fire Captains and Engineers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 1, 2018) – The Nashville Fire Department promoted 46 of its best leaders during a promotional ceremony November 1, 2018 at Nissan Stadium.

Mayor David Briley joined Nashville Fire Department Director Chief William Swann at the ceremony where the promoted personnel received certificates and their new badges.

Retired legendary NewsChannel 5 Anchor Harry Chapman served as emcee for the departmental event.

With these promotions the NFD has a fresh crop of new leaders from within its ranks to help keep moving the department forward.

“I am committed to making sure the best of the best are in positions within the department to help us be the best we can,” Director Chief William Swann said. “Thursday is an exciting day for the department and truly for the people of Davidson County.”

The newly promoted supervisors will begin their new roles on Thursday, November 1, 2018 following our ceremony.
