Metro Social Services to Open Emergency Shelters

Community Centers will open for those needing shelter as temperatures drop below freezing

Metro Social Services will open a cold weather emergency shelter Thursday as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing.

Metro's Overflow Shelter is open tonight at Shelby Park Community Center, 401 S 20th Street, Nashville, TN 37206, from 7pm to tomorrow 8 a.m.

There are 5-7 spots with kennels available for people with pets. People need to seek shelter at Room In The Inn and Nashville Rescue Mission first (most bans are lifted at both places).

People will need to use the WeGo Transit system Bus Route 4 in the morning to leave the shelter. Please plan ahead.
