Two Men Die in Murder-Suicide on Harold Drive
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Two men died this afternoon from shotgun blasts outside a Harold Drive home as the result of murder-suicide.
The investigation to this point by Hermitage Precinct detectives shows that Sonny Coulter, 47, who lived at 1001 Harold Drive, fatally wounded Ethan Love, 29, in the front yard before killing himself in the back yard moments after the first police officers arrived. Love was involved in a relationship with Coulter’s ex-girlfriend, by whom Coulter had two children. It is unclear why Love went to Coulter’s residence. The two had been involved in recent disputes. In one, on November 18, Love alleged that Coulter threatened him with a shovel.
Officers were called to Harold Drive at 1:56 p.m. after Coulter texted a neighbor, who was at work, and indicated that he had killed someone. The neighbor called 911. Also calling in was Coulter’s ex-girlfriend. Coulter had apparently contacted her via Facetime and, during the call, she noticed Love’s body on the ground. Coulter told the woman that he was not going to prison and that they would find his body behind a trailer at the rear of the house. That is where Coulter committed suicide. He pulled the trigger seconds after arriving officers called out to him.
