Police Dog Ringo Tracks Down Suspected Home Burglar

Accused home burglar Jairo Hernandez, 21, is in the Metro Jail tonight after police dog Ringo and his partner, Officer Spencer Harris, tracked him down this afternoon on Blackman Drive.
At 6:30 a.m. today, officers responded to a burglary call at a home in the 5000 block of Edmondson Pike. The resident said he was awakened by the sound of glass breaking. He said he found a man in the kitchen and fought with him. The burglar fled before police arrived.
Just before noon, officers again flooded the area after receiving a report that the burglar had returned. Midtown Hills Precinct officers were told that he was last seen heading into a wooded area. Officer Harris and Ringo began a track. They found Hernandez hiding in a small shed in the 200 block of Blackman Drive. He is charged with aggravated burglary.
