Graduation Ceremony for 34 New Police Officers


The Nashville police department’s officer ranks grew by 34 on December 3rd with the graduation of the latest class of trainees. The new officers received their badges from Chief Anderson and took the oath of office from Mayor Dean during a ceremony at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7594 Old Hickory Boulevard.

The 34 members of the graduating class began training on July 2nd. The new officers will spend the next five to six months with precinct field training officers before patrolling the streets by themselves.
