The Clarksville Woman Killed in Tuesday Night's Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-24 Identified
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The person killed in last night’s five-vehicle collision, all traveling westbound on I-24 near Joelton, is identified as Elizabeth Reese, 58.
The preliminary investigation shows that Reese was driving her 1997 Honda CRV westbound on I-24 when, due to heavy traffic, speeds slowed to approximately five m.p.h. Reese apparently failed to slow down and struck a 2008 Ford Edge in the rear. The collision caused a chain reaction that pushed the Edge into the rear of a 2018 Toyota Camry which then struck the rear of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Reese’s car was then struck on the driver’s side door by a 2004 Honda Civic that was traveling behind her. Reese, of Clarksville, died at the scene. No one else involved in the crash sustained serious injuries. All drivers and occupants were wearing seatbelts.
There was no evidence at the scene of alcohol or drug involvement.
