Arrest Warrants Issued Against Wounded Would-Be Robber

2/6/2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

South Precinct detectives have now sworn out arrest warrants charging Jordan Ponce, 19, with aggravated kidnapping, attempted robbery and assault in connection with his attack on a woman Monday night at Baker Station Apartments in Antioch.

Ponce was shot and wounded by the victim’s husband. He will be arrested and booked on the warrants upon his discharge from Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The investigation shows that Ponce approached the woman as she was walking to her apartment, grabbed her purse and started to drag her away from her apartment door toward a staircase. As this was taking place, he slammed her head into a wall. Her husband heard her screams and went after Ponce as he tried to flee. Ponce was shot after two physical altercations with the husband.
