Soil and Water Conservation District Receives Earth Team Award

Carol M. Edwards

Davidson County Soil and Water Conservation District was awarded the Chief's Field Office Earth Team Award for the state of Tennessee and the Southeast region. The award was presented at the 75th Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts annual meeting and convention. It was presented to the district by the state conservationist, Shelton Hightower.

The Earth Team is a volunteer work force of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Every day dedicated volunteers work with conservation professionals on private lands to improve soil quality, conserve water, improve air quality and enhance wildlife habitat.

Our district utilized and involved several volunteers and groups with over 3500 hours to provide information, education, and conservation service projects to enhance the natural and human resources to the citizens of Nashville and beyond.
