Hero’s Challenge raises money to support Operation Warm’s mission to provide brand-new coats to kids

The Nashville Fire Department is teaming up with the  IAFF Local 140 to host the 2nd Annual Hero’s Challenge, May 11, 2019 at the Nashville Fire Department Training Academy.

This fundraising event will allow individuals to test their strength by taking on tasks from our fire fighter agility test.

Plus, teams of 5 people will compete against each other in timed trials to pull a full-sized fire truck 50 feet. The team to cross the line fastest wins.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Operation Warm. Operation Warm raises money throughout the year with the goal of providing new winter coats to an entire MNPS elementary school.

“The first Hero’s Challenge was a great success and we congratulate the Nashville International Airport Fire and Rescue Department for winning the overall challenge as well as the male individual prize,” Director Chief William Swann said. “This year we plan to make this event even bigger and we want to bring the Hero’s Challenge Helmet back to NFD. We encourage everyone to sign up for this event and come out for a great day raising money.”
