Jeffrey Ragland Wanted for Attempted Murder for Monday Afternoon's Shooting at Underwood Street and 14th Avenue North



Arrest warrants charging attempted murder and unlawful gun possession have been issued against Jeffrey Ragland, 26, for Monday afternoon’s shooting of Denzel Dotson, 23, at Underwood Street and 14th Avenue North.

Video surveillance shows that a gunman, subsequently identified as Ragland, pulled up next to Dotson in a black four-door sedan as Dotson walked on Underwood Street. Ragland got out of the car and began to fire on Dotson. Dotson, who suffered a serious limb-threatening wound to his leg, said that Ragland shot him as part of an on-going dispute.

Ragland, a convicted cocaine and marijuana felon, is prohibited by law from carrying a gun. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
