Pedestrian Killed Wednesday Night on Old Hickory Boulevard Near Dickerson Pike

The pedestrian struck and killed Wednesday night while crossing Old Hickory Boulevard near Dickerson Pike is identified as Stephen P. Brummer, 44, who was homeless.

Brummer was hit by a 2017 Nissan Altima, driven by Kristin Rehbach, 29, of Nashville, which was traveling west on Old Hickory Boulevard. As the Nissan approached the crest of the hill, Brummer was attempting to cross Old Hickory Boulevard from north to south. Rehbach and a witness reported that Brummer walked into traffic. Rehbach said she braked, but was unable to avoid striking Brummer.

There was no evidence of impairment on the part of Rehbach and no charges are anticipated against her. A blood sample from Brummer will be tested by the Medical Examiner for alcohol and drug content.
