Detectives Working to Identify Six Men Involved in Exchange of Gunfire That Injured Two Innocent Bystanders

Hermitage Precinct detectives are working to identify the six men involved in Wednesday’s 5:20 a.m. exchange of gunfire outside the Lotus Inn & Suites, 3430 Percy Priest Drive.

All six arrived in two separate vehicles (4 in a gray Nissan car, 2 in a black Nissan car) and parked in the motel parking lot.

Prior to the shooting, the two men in the black Nissan spoke for several minutes with two other persons who left the scene in a third vehicle. As the two men walked back to their car, two gunmen from the gray Nissan appeared from behind the motel. One of the men walking back to their car fired at them. As the other two gunmen fled, one of them fired a shot toward the other two men, striking an innocent bystander in the ankle. The 51-year-old victim from Georgia had been loading his car before checking out.

The two men continued to run toward the adjacent Cracker Barrel restaurant. The other two suspects chased them and fired shots toward them, striking a 34-year-old man who was arriving for work at the Cracker Barrel. The shot came through the victim’s driver side panel and struck him in the leg.

All six suspects eventually fled in their respective vehicles. One of the two men who fled in the gray Nissan car dropped his backpack. It contained electronics which are being examined.

Both gunshot victims were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were treated for non-critical injuries.

Anyone who recognizes any of the suspects in the attached photos is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
