Pedestrian Struck and Killed Sunday Night on Clarksville Pike Identified

The pedestrian struck and killed Sunday at 7:50 p.m. in the 3900 block of Clarksville Pike is identified as Bobby Johnson, 33, of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
The preliminary investigation shows that Johnson and Tracey Podany, 45, entered the roadway and were both struck by the driver of a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Johnson died at the scene. Podany was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she is in stable condition.
The driver of the PT Cruiser, Courtnei Johnson, 28, told officers that both pedestrians darted out in front of her vehicle and she was unable avoid the collision.
There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement on the part of the driver. Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine if there was impairment on the part of the pedestrian.
