Detectives Working to Identify Suspects Involved in Four Downtown Bar Burglaries
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Central Precinct detectives are working to identify two men and one woman involved in three separate burglaries this week, including today, at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, 422 Broadway, and one break-in early Sunday at Layla’s Honky Tonk, 418 Broadway.
During this morning’s burglary at Tootsie’s, a suspect entered a rear glass door at 7:20 a.m. but was confronted by a security guard and fled. On Wednesday at 3:45 a.m. one of the men entered through Tootsie’s rooftop bar doors and took $800 worth of liquor. On Sunday, a woman drove a white Nissan Altima into the alley behind Layla’s and parked. Two men got out of the car and entered Layla’s back patio where they took $300 worth of beer. The men then got onto the roof and crossed several rooftops making their way to Tootsie’s rooftop bar where they removed $1,200 worth of liquor. All three fled in the Altima which is missing the front driver’s side hubcap and front passenger white side mirror cap.
The suspects are described as two black men and a white female getaway driver. One of the men appears to be in his 20s. He is approximately six feet tall with a scar on his left arm. He wore a Yankees ball cap.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects/Altima from the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
