Regional winners to be showcased on NewsChannel 5 next week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — All this week, 30 Davidson County homes will have their brightest and most creative yard decorations on full display for the first round of judging in the 2012 Alice Ann Chapman Holiday Lights Competition.

Twenty-three Councilmanic District winners have already been chosen. Members of the Metro Beautification and Environment Commission and other volunteer judges will be visiting the homes of contest entrants this week, ultimately selecting five regional winners. Those five will be highlighted each weeknight starting Monday, December 10, during evening newscasts on NewsChannel 5. The Overall County Wide Winner will be announced live on Friday, December 14.

This is the 25th year of the Holiday Lights Competition, open to all residents of Davidson County and sponsored by Mayor Karl Dean, Metro Beautification & Environment (MBEC), Metro Public Works, NewsChannel 5 and Nashville Electric Service.
