Vaping-Associated Pulmonary Illness in Nashville/Davidson County Update

The Metro Public Health Department is working with the Tennessee Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in response to severe lung disease associated with the use of electronic cigarette products. Metro Public Health Department is following direction from the Tennessee Department of Health to monitor and investigate severe lung disease, like those occurring nationwide. Each Thursday we will post an update on the total and new number of vaping associated illnesses and deaths in Nashville/Davidson County.

As of January 2, 2020:

  • Total Confirmed Cases: Seven
  • New case was admitted December 18, 2019 and discharged on December 25, 2019
  • Total Deaths: One
  • No new deaths
