Pedestrian Fatally Injured While Crossing Rosa L. Parks Boulevard



The pedestrian fatally injured this afternoon after being struck by a car while crossing Rosa L. Parks Boulevard is identified as Belinda Ann Browning, 59, of Nashville.

Browning was in the 1300 block of Rosa L. Parks Boulevard crossing from west to east at 2:15 p.m. when she was hit by a 2009 Nissan Versa driven by David Lee Towe, 26, of Madison. Towe said when he saw Browning, he braked hard, but could not stop before striking her. Browning was not in a crosswalk (the nearest one was about 300 feet away).

No charges have been placed at present. The collision remains under investigation.
