Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision on Brick Church Pike

The woman killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Brick Church Pike and Bellshire Drive has been identified as a 49-year-old Nashvillian. Efforts continue to notify her next of kin.

The preliminary investigation shows that the woman, who was driving a 2008 Pontiac SUV, was attempting to turn left from Bellshire Drive onto Brick Church Pike when she was struck by a northbound Dodge pickup truck driven by James Brooks, 25. The woman, who had a stop sign, pulled out in front of the pickup. She was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died.

The contributing factor to this fatal crash appears to be her failure to yield the right of way.

There was no evidence of alcohol/drug involvement at the scene.
