FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The man killed Sunday at 1 a.m. in a crash involving two vehicles on I-24 West near Shelby Avenue is identified as Henry Aguilar, 35.
The preliminary investigation shows that Aguilar was driving his 2014 Toyota Corolla west on I-24 when he drove onto the shoulder and struck the outside concrete barrier. The Corolla then crossed back over all four westbound lanes of travel and collided with the guard rail. Lynch, of Omaha, Nebraska, reported that he was unable to avoid the collision. Aguilar, of Porter Road, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died.
There was no evidence of impairment on the part of Lynch. Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine if there was impairment on the part of Aguilar.
