Madison Precinct detectives are continuing in their efforts to identify a man who was fatally shot late Thursday night inside of a dark gray car, reportedly a Dodge Charger, and then dumped onto Old Hickory Boulevard near Gray Avenue.

A witness reported to police that the Dodge was speeding in traffic in front of him when he saw what he believed to be muzzle flashes from inside the car. The unidentified victim, who is a black man who appeared to be in his 30s, was rushed to Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
