Pedestrian Killed in Sunday Night's Apparent Hit and Run Collision Identified Through Fingerprints

The pedestrian killed in an apparent hit and run collision Sunday night on Old Hickory Boulevard near Frist Boulevard in Hermitage has been identified through her fingerprints as Alesha Starlet Netherton, 36, of Wilson County.

It is believed that Netherton was hit in the roadway at 10 p.m. Sunday night by a black four-door sedan. The car should have received damage to the front end, including to the hood and windshield.

A security guard witness was traveling north on Old Hickory Boulevard between Frist Boulevard and Andrew Jackson Parkway when he saw the car stopped in the middle of Old Hickory Boulevard facing south. The witness made a U-turn at Andrew Jackson Parkway. When he got back to the location, the car was gone, but Netherton, with severe head trauma, was lying in the roadway.

Anyone with information about the black sedan is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
