Public's Assistance Sought in Identifying Two Men in Stolen SUV that Rammed Marked Police Cars

North Precinct detectives are working to identify two men who today rammed a stolen SUV into two marked police cars as they fled from an alley in the 1700 block of McKinney Avenue.

The 2017 BMW SUV was reported stolen on Sunday from a Westwood Avenue residence where it had been parked in the driveway. Today at 11:30 a.m., North Precinct officers spotted the stolen vehicle in the alley. Two men were lying down inside the SUV. As officers approached on foot, the men sat up and drove off, striking two unoccupied police cars. The SUV was recovered a short time later, unoccupied, on Santi Avenue.

The incident was captured on surveillance video.

Anyone with information about the stolen BMW and/or the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward. The direct web link to provide mobile tips is
