Man Charged with 4th of July Fatal Shooting that Claimed Maurice Bowers

North Precinct detectives today charged Treanous Bowers, 27, with the Fourth of July fatal shooting of Maurice Bowers (no known relation) outside a house in the 500 block of Phipps Drive.
Treanous Bowers is accused of firing a weapon toward a group of people attending a party, striking Maurice Bowers, 31. Additional arrests are anticipated.
The motive for this fatal shooting, and whether Maurice Bowers was the intended target, remains under investigation.
