Man Indicted for August 2018 Murder of Innocent Resident in Edgehill Homes

Nearly two years ago, Nashvillian Glen Young, 59, was innocently murdered when he went to look out the door of his Edgehill Homes apartment in response to nearby gunfire. Months of investigation by Midtown Hills Precinct detectives has now resulted in the identification and indictment of Mac Dobbins, 45, of Wesleyville Street, on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful gun possession during the commission of a felony.

The investigation shows that Dobbins was involved in a dice game with several other persons on the night of August 24, 2018, when an argument broke out and shots were fired between Dobbins and others across a parking lot. Detectives determined that Dobbins initiated the gunfire, resulting in shots being fired back at him in self-defense. Young was inside his apartment watching television when he heard the shots and went to look outside. When Young opened his door, he was hit in the chest by a bullet and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Dobbins is jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond.
