Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation

The Metro Board of Parks and Recreation meets at 12:00 p.m., on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are located at the Parks Headquarters, 2565 Park Plaza. Occasionally, meeting dates and locations may change, so always call in advance to confirm. Requests to appear before the Board for action on a specific agenda item are to be received no later than two (2) weeks prior to the meeting for that item to appear on the next agenda. This two (2) week period will allow the Commission and the staff sufficient time to prepare for the meeting.
NOTICE - The June meeting of the Metro Parks Board has been rescheduled to Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. and will be held at the Metro Parks Boardroom located at 2565 Park Plaza.
The Naming Committee of the of the Board will meet at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
Naming Committee Agenda Item:
03-18-11 Mr. Darrell Hawks, Executive Director of the Friends of Kimbro Station, requests approval from the board to name Southeast Regional Park Mill Ridge Park.
04-18-07 Staff and the Greenways and Open Space Commission, request approval from the Parks Board to brand the urban greenway corridor system, City Central Greenway.
05-18-05 Staff requests board approval to name Metro Parks’ property known as Ravenwood and located at 3401 Central Pike, parcel 085000021700, as Ravenwood Park.
05-18-06 Staff requests board approval to name Metro Parks’ property known as Smith Springs and located at 2801 Smith Springs Road, parcel 13600007100, as Smith Springs Park.
The Acquisition Committee of the Board will meet at 11:45 a.m.
12-17-06 Ms. Shain Dennison, representing the Conservation Assistance Grant Fund, requests approval of acquisition of 118 acres on the Cumberland River, map 53, parcels 1, 21, 136 and 137.
