Metro Parks and Recreation has offered a supervised recreation program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 40 years. We offer a wide variety of activities at select Metro Parks community centers and recreation facilities in the community. Adult day programs, Adult Sports Leagues, and "Community Day" activities for various ages are available throughout the year. During Summer months, we have day camps for both adults and high school age youth. Summer camps utilize peer groups to partner with our campers each day.
In addition, Metro Parks partners with local agencies including the Sports 4 All Foundation, Special Olympics Nashville, and Best Buddies Vanderbilt to offer special activities throughout the year. The Disabilities Program also works with MTA's Access Ride to help participants get to and from events and activities.
Since the program has limited capacity, we require advance registration. A waiting list is maintained for those interested. Our headquarters is at the Centennial Sportsplex. For more detailed information, please email Glen Adkins or call our office at 615-862-8489.
