About the Planning Study

At the District Councilmembers’ request, the Planning Department is studying and working on possible changes to land use policy and zoning, including design overlays, along a section of Gallatin Pike in Madison, from Briley Parkway north to State Route 45.

These changes could help implement the vision for the Gallatin Pike corridor the Madison community has discussed through various community plans, small area plans, other studies, and the Madison Strategic Plan.

If you missed the Community Workshop on November 12, you can view the materials below and complete the online Recipe for Gallatin Pike Survey. Planners used a metaphor of baking a cake to illustrate the complex relationship between policy, zoning, connectivity, and design.

Planners are currently compiling results and will post results here when finished.
