Manager, Community Design
Lee Jones brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in planning, urban design, and landscape architecture to Metro Nashville’s Planning Department. Lee worked at the Planning Department for five years, including one as Design Studio manager, before starting a private firm which worked across the country designing new communities, revitalizing corridors, enhancing existing downtowns, and planning for regional growth management.
Lee returned to the Planning Department in August 2017. His goal is to improve Nashville’s livability by focusing on the unique qualities of our physical environment and building on those qualities to strengthen our neighborhoods, corridors, and districts.
Lee is a registered landscape architect and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a BLA in Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State, with an emphasis on Urban Design.
