About the Plan

The Madison Community Plan was most recently updated in August 2017 as part of a scheduled review of the NashvilleNext long-range plan.

All of the Planning Department's fourteen Community Plans are guided by the Community Character Manual, a document which provides detailed policy guidance based on the look and feel of neighborhoods, centers, corridors, and open spaces.

In 2019/2020, planners studied the Gallatin Pike South Corridor and implemented a Corridor Design Overlay district that runs from Briley Parkway north to Anderson Lane.

In 2018, the Madison community worked with a consultant to create the Madison Strategic Plan.

An Action Plan for Reinvestment and Revitalization in Madison, Tennessee was prepared by a Technical Assistance Panel from the Urban Land Institute in February 2012.
