Hart Lane Pedestrian Improvements

November 2020 Update

The Hart Lane construction is substantially complete at this point. Day to day construction is completed. The contractor is still awaiting delivery of the new school flasher signal poles, which is expected later this month.

Project Description

The proposed sidewalk improvements are needed to reconstruct existing sidewalks along Hart Lane from Jere Baxter Middle School to the western ramps to Ellington Parkway. These sidewalks have been closed for several years due to falling rock from the exposed pre-split limestone immediately adjacent to the sidewalks. Restoring this connectivity will provide safe pedestrian access and reconnect Jere Baxter Middle School with nearby residential neighborhoods west and east of the project.
