Metro Nashville Public Works and Davidson County Solid Waste Region Board are working to create a long-term Solid Waste Master Plan with the ultimate goal of achieving zero waste to landfill in the future! The purpose of the Master Plan is to evaluate Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s existing waste management system and provide options to improve and enhance the system and increase waste reduction and diversion.
Community input is an important part of Nashville's Long-term Zero Waste Plan development.
As part of the long-term solid waste planning process, Metro has assembled a task force of various agencies, organizations, educational institutions and individuals to provide input in each phase of the process and ensure Metro develops a community-driven, implementable plan.
Solid Waste Master Plan Invitation List
Public comments on the Plan were taken through June 7, 2019.
