Trash the Wipes

You can prevent toilet and sewer clogs - only flush toilet paper.

Toilets are only meant for one activity, and you know what we’re talking about! When you flush wipes, or other items besides toilet paper, you might clog up your toilet cause sewage to back up into your house. Ewww.

Also, when you flush the wrong thing, you might be adding to a bigger problem that can cause sewers to overflow and can cause damage to the equipment in the wastewater treatment plant. That’s why it’s so important to treat toilets properly and flush only your personal contributions to the local wastewater treatment plant.

Items that should not be flushed

  • Wipes: baby wipes, cleaning wipes, personal wipes
  • Feminine products: tampons, pads
  • Hygiene items: cotton swabs, cotton balls, dental floss
  • Trash: candy wrappers, rubber gloves
  • Other: diapers, incontinence pads and briefs, hair from hairbrushes
