Water Quality Buffers

New development and significant redevelopment sites are required to preserve water quality buffers along Metro’s community waters, which include streams, rivers, springs, lakes, ponds, and wetlands. Please see Metro’s Stormwater Management Manual, Volume 1, Section 6.9 for additional information.

MWS can perform community water determinations on a limited basis.  Please contact Rebecca Dohn (615-880-2420) to determine if your property is eligible.  A copy of the Community Water Determination Form  signed by the property owner is required before the determination can be performed.
