Join Council Members Burkely Allen, Jacob Kupin, and Brenda Gadd for a round trip to downtown Nashville with the option to take part in the Downtown Waffle Shop, a 101-year holiday tradition benefiting those in our Nashville community who need food and essentials. Participants will learn about the new QuickTicket bus pass, partnerships with rideshare programs, and WeGo Access for persons with disabilities. Once we arrive downtown, bus riders are welcome to attend Downtown Presbyterian Church’s 101st Annual Waffle Shop for a complete breakfast with waffles, grits, a choice of Hot Chicken (hot or mild), country bacon, or turkey hash, and your choice of coffee or spiced tea.
Participants may board Route 50 Charlotte Pike at: 10:50 a.m. - 46th Ave./Richland Park Inbound Station Park for free at the Richland Park Branch Library, 4711 Charlotte Ave., and board the bus at the inbound shelter at 46th Avenue and Charlotte Pike.
Meet at location above and receive a QuickTicket card preloaded with $4, a full-day’s fare. The bus will arrive at the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central around 11:05 a.m. The bus will depart for the return trip at 11:15 a.m. If you are staying for the breakfast or to enjoy Downtown on your own, use your new bus riding skills to return to Richland Park. The bus ride is free. Optional waffle breakfast is $20 in advance (dpchurch.com) or $25 at the door.
