The purpose of this working group is to research, identify, and catalog Metro Nashville’s existing emergency procedures, while also evaluating where meaningful gaps exist, particularly those areas where Councilmembers can provide effective support during both weather and non-weather-related events.
The goal of this effort is to develop a practical, user-friendly guidebook that will be shared with all Councilmembers to strengthen coordination, communication, and response. As part of this work, we will also explore current dashboard tools available to Councilmembers and assess opportunities to enhance or develop improved systems that provide real-time, actionable information during emergencies.
The first meeting relative to our work is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at 12:30 pm at the Metro Emergency Communications Center, 2060 15th Avenue South, where we will meet with NFD Chief Will Swann and the OEM team.
