Today, Vice Mayor Angie E. Henderson announced Metro Council 2025-2026 Standing Committee Chairs and updated committee membership assignments.
The newly appointed chairs for 2025-2026 are as follows:

Public Health and Safety
Jordan Huffman
Government Operations and Regulations
Olivia Hill
Arts, Parks, Libraries, and Entertainment
Terry Vo
Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections
Tom Cash
Charter Revision
Clay Capp
Additionally, the Vice Mayor has appointed Council Members Erin Evans, Jacob Kupin, and John Rutherford to serve on the Continuum of Care Homelessness Planning Council, Council Member Burkley Allen to serve on the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, and Council Member Olivia Hill to serve on the Greenway and Open Space Commission.
The appointed chairs will oversee their first meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, with the exception of the Planning and Zoning Committee Chair, who will be selected by Council election on September 2, 2025. Committee chairs have been asked to select a vice chair by Friday, September 12, 2025.
In a memo to the Metro Council, Vice Mayor Henderson expressed thanks to 2024-2025 committee chairs, all of whom have prepared a transition memo to ensure the Council maintains institutional memory and continuity in its work efforts. "I am grateful to those members who have agreed to retain or accept a leadership role for the coming year," said Henderson.
The Metropolitan Council is the legislative authority of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, the nation’s first, fully consolidated city-county government, established in 1963. The Vice Mayor serves as the president of the Council, which is comprised of 35 district members and five members serving at-large.
