Nashville Fire Department crews responded to 3144 Hunters Hill Road just after 2 a.m. following reports of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, crews encountered a home heavily involved with fire and smoke.
An occupant who was outside the residence informed firefighters that another person may still be inside the home. Fire crews initiated an interior fire attack and search operation, during which they located a deceased adult male inside the residence.
Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control and fully extinguish the blaze. The home sustained significant damage and is considered a total loss.
The occupant who was outside the home when crews arrived was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Two firefighters were also transported for medical evaluation after experiencing elevated heart rates. Neither firefighter suffered fire-related injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Investigators with the Nashville Fire Department, Metro Nashville Police Department, and other partner agencies assigned to the Task Force are conducting the investigation.
