East Precinct detectives are working to identify a man involved in at least three auto burglaries in Shelby Park after which the victims’ credit cards were used at Kroger, 711 Gallatin Pike.
The latest break-in occurred last Tuesday afternoon. The 31-year-old victim reported that he parked his SUV in the Shelby Park Community Center lot on South 20th Street near Shelby Avenue around 3 p.m. When he returned about 45 minutes later, his driver side window was broken out and his wallet, which had been in the center console, was missing. His credit card was used a short time later at the Gallatin Pike Kroger to purchase a $500 Visa gift card. The suspect left the Kroger, alone, in a black Cadillac CTS.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect, who wore an Atlanta Braves ballcap, from the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
