The Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds Office has announced it will host an 'Open House' on Thursday, August 7 at its new location at 300 Deaderick Street, Nashville, TN. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting taking place at 10:30 a.m.
The new location underwent an extensive 13-month long, two-phase renovation totaling nearly 15,000 square feet. The construction team which consisted of CPS, Barge Design Solutions, WIN Engineering, Logan Patri Engineering, RW Childrey, the Don Hardin Group, NOI, and several other companies joined forces to design, and build an open workplace concept, similar to those adopted by companies like Google and Microsoft which are now becoming more prominent in government allowing for greater collaboration and transparency by removing walls and breaking down barriers and adapting more effectively to evolving customer needs with improved efficiency.
An array of services including access to archives, microfilm, microfiche, old index books, specialized databases, and use of computer workstations are just a few of the current services. New services expected later this year will include- Real ID Licenses, Passports, and a Veterans ID booth where cards can be provided in place of DD214 private documents.
"We are excited to host an 'Open House' so that the public can become familiar with our new home and get acclimated to all of the services currently being offered as well as new ones expected later in the year," Johnson stated. "Ensuring our customers receive quality and efficient services while remaining innovative leaders remains our top priority," Johnson added.
The office relocated from Bridgestone Arena in May of 2024 to its current home after being there for more than 21 years. Moreover, the Register of Deeds office has come full circle as it is now in close proximity to the Historic Metro Courthouse where the Register's Office originally resided.
The public is invited to see the state-of-the-art facility, and enjoy delicious Hors d'Oeuvres at the upcoming event. Free parking is also available at both the Deaderick Street, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard entrances.
