The Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds announced it will be closed for construction on Wednesday and Thursday June 11-12 as phase II of the renovation project is just weeks away from final completion which includes installing handicapped ramps, finalizing an elevator installation, and other construction-related punch list items according to County Register Karen Johnson.
"Construction is going well and we’re excited to see things coming together at our new location," Johnson stated. “Ensuring our customers receive quality and efficient services remains our priority while construction is ongoing and we regret any inconvenience caused by the closing,” she added.
Once complete, the Phase II lower-level construction area will include several services for public use. Additionally, a Veterans ID booth will be housed on this level providing veterans cards which can be provided in place of DD214 private documents.
The office plans to host an ‘Open House’ around the first week of August where the public can learn about new services offered and improved existing ones. Customers can also enjoy access to free parking at both our Deaderick Street and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. entrances for their convenience. For detailed images and information about our parking areas, kindly visit our website at nashville.gov/rod.
All E-filing services remain available. The office will reopen and resume regular business hours on Friday, June 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with plans for the entire space to be fully operational to the public sometime in July 2025.
