ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1032
An ordinance limiting motor vehicle traffic on a portion of Otter Creek Road and authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, in cooperation with the State of Tennessee and Radnor Lake State Natural Area, to erect and maintain appropriate signage signifying the limitations.
Whereas, currently motor vehicle traffic on portions of Otter Creek within the Radnor Lake State Natural Area is limited during the daylight hours to certain authorized personnel to encourage pedestrian traffic; and
Whereas, it is necessary to continue such motor traffic limitations to provide a safe zone for pedestrians; and
Whereas, it is the desire of this Council to create a formal regulation of the motor traffic on the affected portion of Otter Creek Road owned and maintained by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to ensure that this practice will remain in effect.
be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and
Section 1. That an Otter Creek Road pedestrian safe zone shall be created and maintained as follows:
Otter Creek Road and Radnor Lake State Natural Area pedestrian safe zone-Between 7:00 a.m. and dark, motor vehicle traffic on the portion of Otter Creek Road, which passes through Radnor Lake State Natural Area between its western boundary and the city limits of Oak Hill, shall be limited to: (1) park personnel, (2) residents of 881 through 1199 Otter Creek Road, (3) vehicles displaying a valid handicapped placard and (4) emergency vehicles. The Department of Public Works is authorized, in cooperation with the State of Tennessee and Radnor Lake State Natural Area, to erect and maintain appropriate signage and/or barriers signifying these limitations. Violation of this ordinance shall be punishable by a fine of up to $50.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
