RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-599
A resolution recognizing Mrs. Josephine "Cookie" Jackson for her community leadership.
WHEREAS, Mrs. Josephine Jackson has worked at the Metro Parks Department for over 30 years, enjoying the challenge of working with children; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson serves as manager of the Richard Hartman Park Community Center, a job she has been doing for 33 years; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson is instrumental in getting an indoor swimming pool, a larger club room and many needed improvements for the community; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson has been afforded the opportunity to meet and work with all ages by always going above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of the center, children, adults and community; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson has used her vision, skills, and energy in numerous initiatives that have brought great benefit to the community, holiday dinners for Girl Scouts and their parents, a "Homework" after school study program, community outreach programs, Reflections of Mother and Daughter reception, Hartman Park Junior Pro Football, numerous youth workshops, water aerobics and many other activities; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mrs. Josephine Jackson for her extraordinary dedication and tireless community service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mrs. Josephine "Cookie" Jackson for her community leadership.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mrs. Josephine "Cookie" Jackson.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
