A Message from Kent Oliver, Library Director
Like all of you, we're following the COVID-19 outbreak closely and taking steps to stay as safe and healthy as we can.
That's why Nashville Public Library will suspend all programming beginning Monday, March 16 until Thursday, April 16.
What This Means For You, Our Customers
The programs we hold regularly – like story times, classes, movies, and book club meetings – will not take place. If you have questions about a specific event, call us at that location.
We will also cancel reservations made by local groups to use our public meeting spaces for community gatherings. Finally, we will suspend our outreach work of taking workshops, puppet shows, and other services into the community.
We remain open for you to visit, browse and check out materials, and use public computers and free Wi-Fi. We'll continue to clean and disinfect frequently at our locations, with a special focus on high-use items like doorknobs and handrails. Meanwhile, our staff will practice friendly social distancing as they serve you.
We Will Be In Touch Soon
A member of our team will be in touch as soon as possible if you reserved a meeting room at one of our locations, or if your organization was set to host a visit by the library at your own facility. We will work with you to reschedule as quickly and effectively as we can.
As more information about COVID-19 becomes available, it might become necessary to close library locations in the interest of public health and safety. If this happens, you'll be the first to know.
We know the library is a valued resource for so many readers and supporters. We want to get back to normal as quickly and safely as possible.
Please Stay In Touch
We apologize for any inconvenience today's decision might cause, but we appreciate your understanding and always appreciate your support.
Please check the Nashville Public Library website and social media for real-time updates on what we're doing as this situation continues.
Take care,
Kent Oliver
Director of Nashville Public Library
