Appointments are offered for certain types of vehicle title and registration transactions.
If you are moving into the state of Tennessee, your vehicle is titled in your personal name and you are not changing ownership, you may schedule an appointment online.
If your vehicle was purchased as an abandoned vehicle or garage keeper's lien, an appointment is required for processing. To avoid having your paperwork rejected by the State of TN, it is advised that you review your documents to ensure they meet requirements prior to booking an appointment. Schedule an appointment to process abandoned vehicle or garage keeper lien registration. Limit one transaction per appointment.
If you have recently purchased a vehicle, you have the title of the vehicle with a completed chain of ownership (seller to buyer), your documents are not altered, the vehicle was not obtained through an inheritance or a circumstance that would require a Certification of Sales Under Special Conditions form (Abandoned Vehicle, Garage Keeper Lien, or Repossessed Vehicle), you may schedule an appointment online.
Due to high demand for Sales Under Special Conditions appointments and the careful nature with which these applications must be reviewed, the following changes will be implemented to ensure that we are able to fairly serve all Davidson County residents with Abandoned Vehicle and Garage Keeper's Lien transactions:
- Sales Under Special Conditions appointments will be limited to one appointment per week per customer.
- The name used to book your Sales Under Special Conditions appointment must be the name of the buyer/owner of the vehicle being registered.
- The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) entered in your appointment booking must be the complete and correct VIN for the vehicle that is to be registered. Please review the information you enter before submitting to ensure that it is accurate.
Additional appointments booked in the same name within a week will be cancelled and will not be honored. If your name and/or VIN do not match at the time of your appointment, your reservation will not be honored, and you will be required to re-book to process your transaction.
Appointments are available for the Davidson County Clerk’s Main Office in the Howard Office Building at 700 Ronald Reagan Way, Suite 101, Nashville, TN 37210. Appointments are not available for branch locations.
Each appointment is good for one transaction. Additional transactions require one appointment each.
