Advisory Committee on Transportation
Description
The Advisory Committee on Transportation (ACT) provides guidance and community input for the Choose How You Move program, Nashville’s voter-approved initiative to enhance mobility and improve the city’s transit system.
This committee ensures that community voices remain central to the program’s implementation. It brings together technical expertise and diverse perspectives to review progress, make recommendations, and promote transparency throughout this generational investment in Nashville’s transportation future.
Committee Composition
The Advisory Committee includes up to 15 members representing a mix of nonprofit, private, and public sectors, as well as interested citizens and elected officials:
- The Vice Mayor (or designee)
- Five members elected by the Metro Council
- Kalen N. Russell
- John W. Smith
- Dr. Caludio A. Mosse
- Morgan Rehnberg
- David K. Harris
- Nine members appointed by the Mayor

Responsibilities
The committee works closely with CHYM’s Chief Program Office to:
- Make recommendations to the Mayor on program implementation
- Review plans, progress, and communications as requested
- Address project prioritization, timelines, and procurement
- Support workforce development and partnership opportunities
- Foster partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and community organizations
- Ensure integration of program values with community needs
- Promote public education and awareness about the program
- Participate in program events and outreach activities
