Metro Animal Care and Control

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, Metro Animal Care and Control is implementing new measures to reduce the risk to the public, volunteers and employees.

Owners considering relinquishing their pets are asked to contact the Pet Safety Net team at 615-862-4017 or email

Adoption, reclaim and foster services will only be conducted by appointment to limit person-to-person contact. Please visit and enter zip code 37211 to view lost animals brought to the shelter as well as animals available for adoption and foster.

Animal Control Officers will only be responding to high-priority and emergency calls. Officers will wear personal protective equipment in cases when there is a risk of contracting COVID-19.

These measures will be consistently evaluated to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers, community members, and animals.
