Age Requirements for Volunteering
Under 12 Years of Age: We encourage our youngest fans to look into other opportunities we have to participate at the shelter including Kitten Reading Club, Sit, Stay, Story Book Club, and our yearly summer camps.
Junior Volunteers (Ages 12-15): We encourage these youth volunteers to participate alongside a parent or guardian at the shelter at all times. These junior volunteers will work as a team with their adult partner either helping to socialize our adoptable cats or accompanying their adult partner while they interact with our adoptable dogs.
Teen Volunteers (Ages 16-17): Our teen volunteers are approved to volunteer in any capacity (without an adult partner). They simply require a parent or guardian’s sign-off before volunteering.
Becoming an Animal Care and Control Volunteer
We require that all volunteers complete orientation, training and a background check before becoming part of the program.
We do not currently accept applications for court-ordered service hours.
