About NTERT
The Nashville Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team (NTERT) is Nashville’s tactical dispatch team, structed within the Operations Division of the Department of Emergency Communications.
Formed in 2003, NTERT started with just six members — two supervisors and one manager.
NTERT includes more than 35 members organized into 4 teams.
In 2025, the team added its first full-time supervisor, Sebrina Jackson who previously served as an NTERT team leader spending years supporting and training other NTERT members and helping enhance the team as a whole.
NTERT works alongside Metro Nashville Police, Fire Departments, the Office of Emergency Management, and other agencies to handle over 700 events and incidents a year.
NTERT also staffs radio talkgroups for Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) specialized units and initiatives including the MNPD Entertainment District Unit (EDU) and MNPD Violent Crimes Initiative (VCI).
Whether it’s a planned event or an unexpected emergency, NTERT is ready to respond.
Emergency Operations Center Support
When the Metro Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activates during severe weather, large events, or citywide emergencies, NTERT members help staff the activation working alongside other Metro agencies to keep information flowing and to maintain a unified response.
Regional and National Deployment
Through official mutual-aid requests, NTERT members may deploy to support other emergency communications centers affected by disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, or wildfires. These deployments are coordinated through the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) or Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).
EMAC is a national mutual-aid agreement that allows states to share resources with one another during disasters. It provides a legal and operational framework for states to send personnel, equipment, and other support across state lines when requested.
Always Ready to Help
NTERT is proud to provide reliable communication support wherever it’s needed. Whether close to home or across the country, this dedicated team keeps emergency responders connected and communities safe.
